The jail has many policies and procedures in place at all times related to communicable diseases and inmates experiencing health issues. All new inmates are screened by on-site medical staff prior to being placed in a housing unit. In response to COVID and following the guidelines of Larimer County Health and Environment, the jail has implemented a housing unit for incoming inmates to help maintain the health of all inmates and staff.
New inmates are sent to a housing pod for 14 days after the booking process. These inmates are housed in cells and monitored for symptoms of illness. They are allowed out of their cells on hourly rotations to help maintain physical distancing ratios during the monitoring period. If an inmate presents with symptoms of an illness, they are isolated in a different area of the jail as necessary.
Inmates with symptoms are provided medical treatment to include hospitalization if necessary. Inmates are sent to general housing assignments after the day period if they do not have symptoms of an illness. The Jail Division is commanded by Captain Timothy Palmer, whose primary responsibility is to provide general management, direction and supervision to the division. The easiest way is to search for an inmate by name.
You may also call and ask if a specific person is in jail. By state law, the identity of persons in jail is public information. Bonds can be posted 24 hours a day. There are different types of bonds. If you don't know the inmate's type of bond you can look them up online.
Jail staff will not accept any money. Surety bonds are business transactions between you and a bonding agent. Jail staff can not recommend any individual bonding agent.
A list from the telephone directory is posted in the lobby of the jail for your convenience. Information on bonds persons is also available on-line through various sources. Property bonds are completed at the courthouse. The only type of collateral accepted is land. Contact the courthouse for property bonds. Personal Recognizance with Co-Obligator requires a second individual to sign on the bond with the inmate. No collateral is necessary upon signing the bond, however if the inmate fails to appear you will be financially responsible for the amount indicated on the bond.
These bonds must be completed in person at the jail. Arrive at the jail lobby and speak with staff. You can help expedite this process in many ways. Arrive at the jail sober, bring a government issued ID, court documents, cash for bonding purposesmedications in original bottle, eye glasses or contacts, and as little personal property as possible.
Outside books or electronics are not allowed. Smoking is not allowed. If you plan to quickly bond out after surrendering, the best time to turn yourself in is - am. Booking does not accept checks as payment, so it is best to bring cash. Credit cards are accepted, but additional fees apply. The counselor intern registration may not be renewed; therefore, no Continuing Education is required for counselor interns. All continuing education hours must be specific to substance use disorders and their treatment or related to chemical dependency counseling as defined by the dimensions of knowledge, skills and attitudes. Related education hours can include courses in psychology, sociology, counseling, mental health, behavioral science, psychiatric nursing, ethics and rehabilitation counseling.
Continuing education hours must include at least three hours of ethics training and at least six hours of training total in HIV, Hepatitis C and sexually transmitted diseases.
If a person's job duties include clinical supervision, required hours of continuing education must include three hours of clinical supervision training. A licensee who teaches a qualifying continuing education course must receive the same number of hours as students attending the course. Only one set of hours can be accrued for a single curriculum and no more than one half of the required amount of Continuing Education hours licensed will be granted for courses taught by the applicant.
An LCDC who holds a master's degree or other advanced degree must complete at least 24 hours of continuing education during each two-year licensure period. The 24 hours of education must include the specific courses required by rule see above.
An LCDC who does not hold a master's degree or other advanced degree must complete at least 40 hours of continuing education. Continuing Education hours submitted in excess of your required amount will not be carried over to your next renewal. For counselors who live out of state, the department will also accept continuing education hours approved by other state and Federal agencies. Continuing Education.
